Fire burn info

Brush/log burning fires within the Park Estates Community are strongly discouraged during the dry and hot summer months regardless of the County fire restriction status. Burning is recommended during rainy periods or times when snow is on the ground. NEVER leave a burning fire unattended.

The Ridgway Fire Department (970-626-5311) will manage a burn for you for a donation as long as there is not a County fire ban or alert.

Before burning a brush/log fire County law requires that you first notify the County using the following contact: WESTCO - Ridgway Fire Dispatch 970-252-4020; Calling the Ridgway Sherriff’s Department as well is a good practice so that they can inform all emergency agencies in the area of the burn.

County fire restrictions may be in addition to National Weather Service Warnings and should be checked through WESTCO - Ridgway Fire Dispatch.
